One day left! So, it's late Sunday night and I've been looking through all there is
to do next week! Tomorrow we take a trip to get my new computer. Another small step in getting better organized.
This will allow me to do much more on a portable-basis. At least that's the plan!
I can't help but
think of what excitement this year will bring. I hope that you are all as excited for this year as I. I've
been able to book our choreography and have uniforms (with a costume change ) mostly picked out. We're going to
have a larger group this year, I hope, than we've ever had before and that makes things so much more fun!
I'm wondering who will be interning with me this year. I have lots of new ideas of how student interns can get
the most out of the program. If you are interested, let me know ASAP.
Also, officers, be thinking of
when you are best available during the first week for a meeting. It will either be before or after school. Check
to see if you can get in early for one day and let me know.
See you all Wednesday!

Sipping coffee and dreaming of you!So, it's an absolute georgeous day outside and what am I doing on this, my last day of Summer vacation? Im sitting
here sipping my coffee, working on my website, the new Music Department Handbook and plans for the first few weeks
of school! In fact I've been sitting here all day today and yesterday, thinking about school. I should
be out in the garden, walking, cleaning my house, doing laundry or any number of things begging for my attention.
Perhaps I'll take the laptop to the deck and continue working there. I am so excited for the prospect of
new faces, new music, new ideas and new opportunities! I am also excited for the new-found peace of mind that I've
been grooming; just for you! Many of you offered me the gift of your honesty and thoughtfulness in our end-of-year questionairre.
I have sought out ways to focus on relaxation and organization! These have helped me to focus on the here and now and
to stream-line what we do even more! Of course for my officers, this means more requirements for you! Did you
ever hear the addage "Be careful what you wish for?" :)
I am so looking forward to what this new
year has to offer; challenges, opportunities and successes!

New Year, New Site, New Band DirectorOkay,so you've seen the new site! I am so excited for the new school year to begin! I've been hard at
work at my Masters in Music at BU and looking forward to my final push to finish. You'll get to see first hand all
that I've learned although my goal is to integrate it seemlessly! You've probably already gotten your schedules
and may have questions. You may have heard rumors about the band program too. As always, you can email me at cleary@thompson.ctschool.net if you have any questions. This summer I went out to Tiffin, OH to participate in Show Choir Camps of America.
It was so wonderful to get 'your' perspective on show choir! Now I know what it feels like to be in your shoes,
and I know that will allow me to make better choices for you. I am in the process of procuring a Fantabulous choreographer
so I'll get that posted as soon as I've got confirmation. Show Choir auditions will start the second week
of school and we are going to need 2 costumes this year so you'd better be ready to work hard and fundraise hard! Can't wait to see everyone! Mrs. Leary
